Mike Tyson On 'Undisputed Truth' One-Man Show: 'Why Are You Laughing?'

Saturday night HBO will premiere a film version of Mike Tyson's live, one- man show with "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth." The personal, often funny show details the champ's life and times, as MTV News found out when we sat down with Tyson in advance of the special's release.

"We were in Vegas and we saw Chazz Palminteri in 'A Bronx Tale,' and I was saying to my wife, I was explaining, baby, I can do this," Tyson said on the origins of the project. From there, Tyson wrote up the show, and put on several small performances. Soon a friend called director Spike Lee on the phone raving, and things moved very quickly from there.

"Spike called me while in Europe and asked to do it on Broadway," Tyson continued. "I was ecstatic about that."For the opening of the performance on the Great White Way, Tyson gave tickets to friends and family, expecting them to tell him, "Mike, this sucks," but viewers actually enjoyed the show."On the first night, I couldn't believe the response," Tyson said. "People were laughing. I said, why are you laughing? I'm talking about my life! I just came to the conclusion if they're laughing, if they're happy, that means it's a good show.""Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth".
