WEEKEND ROMANCE: AINT MEN MORE WONDERFUL THAN WOMEN?

My friend, Dr. Uche Anugwa once made a post here on Facebook adjudging that the most wonderful cooks in the world are guys and not even ladies.

The comments that trailed it - which came from both genders, especially ladies - agreed that he wasn't wrong.

I really don't know how true it is but I've heard from some folks that a guy cooks for the Jonathans at Aso Rock Villa - not a lady.

I have also been to the families/households of some wealthy people and have found their chief cooks to be more of men than women; that is where the wives are too occupied to enter the kitchen.

And believe me, those male cooks are exceptionally exceptional! You even know that.

A very talented and sound gynecologist from my area in Anambra State was tirelessly begged, even with tears and kneels on ground, to stay back in the United States when he made up his mind to return to his Country and offer his services and experience.

Who was the doctor? A man not a woman! Who were the people that begged him to stay back in U.S?

Nigerian women in U.S whose healths were safer in his hands!

And this reminds us of the many women who prefer to be attended to by a male gynecologist than a female one.

I have listened to young mothers who confessed that they were better off with the male gynecologist that delivered them of their babies than having a female one.

There have been and will always be cases of female gynecologists who are sassy, bitter and uncaring with their patients, but hardly will you hear of such ill-mannerisms about the male ones in the same profession.

Aint men more wonderful than women?

I have equally seen firsthand where ladies/women queued up to wait for a male hair-dresser to attend to them than have the female hair- dresser touch their hairs.

When you ask them why that is so, they'd tell you that they trust more the competence of the male hair-dresser, his carefulness and patience than they would of the female who might end up quarreling with them.

Aint men more wonderful than women?

I have also seen male make-up artistes who are more sought after by women for make-ups even when there are numerous of them female make- up artistes.

I have also seen male designers/ tailors who are sought after by women to make/ design their cloths even when there are many female designers/seamstresses who desperately need jobs to do.

At Schools and Universities, students - male and female - have had to have their best teachers in males than in females.

I have equally seen many ladies who feel better and cared for living amidst men than living amidst their fellow women.

When you ask them why they prefer so, they'd reply: "Heck, you don't know women? Biko, I don't need their hateful lifestyle and unhealthy competitiveness". And so on and so forth.

Nothing has made me laugh so much than hearing the puerile dictum "What a man can do, woman can do and even better". It is not just that they can do it but 'even better'.

Women forget to ask themselves why men never brag about what women can do, a man can do and even better.

Yes, we won't join them in doing that makana Onye kalili mmadu ma ebe o kalili ya.

It's such a funny specter seeing an avowed pregnant feminist scared of being delivered of her baby by her fellow feminist gynecologist, instead she sought for the male gynecologist, not remembering how she's had to detest and deride men before then.

Let women, for once, show us some respect for the many thankless jobs/services we've continuously offered them with all our hearts in the kitchens, at hospitals, Universities/Schools, hair-dressing salons, tailoring halls, places of abode, etc, even when we don't make noise about them.

Aint we, men more wonderful than women?
