"She had married Anene because Okonkwo was too poor then to marry. Two years after her marriage to Anene, she could bear it no longer and she ran away to Okonkwo. Okonkwo's house was on the way to the stream. She went in and knocked at his door and he came out. Even in those, he was not a man of many words. He just carried her into his bed and in the darkness began to feel around her waist for the loose end of her cloth". Questions: (A.) Where did I get this passage; which chapter and who authored it? (B.) In what circumstance did this happen and who is the SHE that didn't have her name mentioned? (C.) What in particular do you think the woman couldn't bear any longer from Anene that made her run to Okonkwo, since it clearly can't be lack of money? (D.) Could it be possible that the woman decided ab-initio to go to the stream for another reason other than fetching water? (E.) When Okonkwo must have loosened the end of her cloth, could it be possible that he would have had to loose another inside cloth or does it mean the women of those days wore only one cloth that can be so EASILY loosened? (F.) Talking of the modern times; have you had this experience as a man or known anybody who experienced same and how would you relate it to the events of today where same seems to happen too?
